3. Van Phong Port

Van Phong Port has the potential to become the largest international transshipment port in Vietnam, with the capacity to accommodate liquid cargo vessels up to 350,000 DWT.

The port comprises the following functional areas:

Dam Mon Wharf (North Van Phong Bay): A general cargo and container wharf serving the Hon Gom industrial-urban area, receiving vessels of 100,000 tons or more and international cruise ships. This area has long-term potential for international container transshipment development.

South Van Phong Bay Wharf: A specialized wharf for liquid cargo (petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas), coal import for thermal power plants, and bulk cargo transshipment, receiving vessels from 100,000 to 300,000 tons. In addition, there is a general cargo and container wharf for vessels from 10,000 to 50,000 tons, serving the Ninh Hai, Ninh Thuy, and Doc Let industrial zones.

4. Quy Nhon Port

Quy Nhon Port, located in Binh Dinh province, is situated in a sheltered bay thanks to the Phuong Mai peninsula, creating favorable conditions for vessels to dock and load/unload cargo. The port can accommodate ships with a deadweight tonnage of 30,000 to 50,000 DWT.

As one of the 10 largest seaports in Vietnam, Quy Nhon port has the following terminal areas:

Quy Nhon – Thi Nai: General cargo and container terminal, accommodating ships from 10,000 to 30,000 tons, with specialized terminals for ships from 5,000 to 7,000 tons.

Nhon Hoi: A terminal area with potential for future development, serving large industrial facilities, accommodating ships from 10,000 to 50,000 tons.

The port is a general cargo terminal, serving the Chan May industrial zone and transit cargo from Laos and Northeast Thailand. It has a specialized terminal for shipbuilding and repair, and for international cruise ships, accommodating cargo vessels from 30,000 to 50,000 tons and passenger ships up to 100,000 GT.

10. Da Nang Port

Located in Da Nang Bay, Da Nang Port is one of the largest ports in Central Vietnam, with a convenient transportation system and a central role in logistics. The port has 3 terminal areas:

Tien Sa – Son Tra: General cargo and container terminal, serving Da Nang, the Northern Central Highlands, and transit cargo from Laos and Northeast Thailand. It accommodates ships from 30,000 to 50,000 tons, container ships up to 4,000 TEU, and international cruise ships up to 100,000 GT. Total yard area is 178,603 m² and warehouse area is 14,285 m².

Tho Quang: General cargo terminal for ships from 10,000 to 20,000 tons, with a dedicated terminal for ships from 1,000 to 5,000 tons.

Lien Chieu: Currently primarily serving bulk and liquid cargo, with the potential to develop into a major terminal in the future, accommodating vessels up to 100,000 tons and containers from 6,000 to 8,000 TEU.

Da Nang Port is the terminus of the East-West Economic Corridor, connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.
