4. Quy Nhon Port (Binh Dinh)

Cai Lan Port, Quang Ninh is located in the economic center of the North. This is Vietnam’s largest deep-water seaport. Its favorable geographical location attracts construction and port service projects. Cai Lan Port is equipped with an advanced sea and road network, reducing the impact of natural disasters. Cai Lan Port has been developing and expanding year after year.

Cai Lan Port is among the top 50 most efficient seaports in the world.

Yokohama Port (Japan) tops the ranking, followed by King Abdullah Port (Saudi Arabia) in second place and Chiwan Port (Shenzhen, China) in third.

Notably, three Vietnamese ports are included in the top 50. Specifically, Cai Lan Port (Quang Ninh) ranked 46th, Hai Phong Port ranked 47th, and Cai Mep Port (Tan Cang Cai Mep Port) ranked 49th.

One of the important reasons for Cai Lan Port’s 46th position is the continuously improving container handling productivity of Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT Cai Lan) – a unit operating at Cai Lan Port. With 6 gantry cranes, a 14-hectare storage yard, and equipped with Post Panamax type berth cranes, CICT Cai Lan achieves a handling productivity of 33-35 containers/crane/hour, sometimes reaching up to 40 containers/crane/hour. The turnaround time for a 5,000 TEU vessel is just over one day.

6. Saigon Port – Vietnam’s Largest Seaport

Saigon Port plays a crucial role in the export and import industry of Southern Vietnam. Saigon Port includes Tan Cang, Cat Lai, Cai Mep, and Hiep Phuoc. It’s easy to see that the economy of the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta is heavily dependent on and influenced by the operations of Saigon Port.

7. Cua Lo Port (Nghe An)

Cua Lo Port in Nghe An is located in the North Central region.
