Bulk cargo refers to goods transported directly in loose form, without packaging, such as cement, steel, sand, stone, ore, animal feed, fertilizers, etc. This type of cargo is concentrated in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam – areas with strong industrial production, mining, and agricultural and forestry processing industries.
Located in the heart of the Central Vietnam key economic zone and serving as a gateway to the sea for Central Vietnam, the Central Highlands, Southern Laos, and Northern Cambodia on the East-West corridor, Chu Lai International Port is a strategic transshipment point for export bulk cargo. Berth No. 1 (471m long) is specially designed, with a capacity of approximately 6 million tons/year, serving a diverse range of goods such as cement, steel, sand, stone, wood chips, pellets, bauxite ore, etc.
